Being very young, Pallatier traveled from Paris to Spain with the intention of becoming a bullfighter, but he couldn’t overcome his fear. Despite that, he remained passionate about bullfighting and sought to capture in his work the courage and mortal risk assumed by the bullfighter in their performance each evening. Pallatier
focuses his work on bullfighting starting from 1983, using cuttings from bullfighters’ costumes and other bullfighting objects. From 1996 onwards, he even uses the bullfighter’s cape as a brush and invents “Toreography,” which he calls “the writing of bullfighting.”.
